ASE produces mechanical design in-house — load calculations, system selection, Revit models, and construction documents held to ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, and current mechanical, plumbing, and energy codes. What makes it useful is where it sits. The engineering is done by people who will be on the job when the equipment is rigged, and who will hear about it from the service technician five years later.

On renovation work the drawings rarely match the building. We model existing conditions in occupied facilities — the approach that let a hazardous exhaust system be prefabricated and installed inside an operating ISO 5 cleanroom.

Design-assistYou keep your design engineer. ASE joins early to price alternatives, model existing conditions, flag long-lead equipment, and pressure-test constructability while the design can still change. Often the most useful arrangement on a renovation.
Design-buildWhen a project benefits from a single mechanical partner, ASE takes the design and the construction under one line of responsibility — concept, drawings, permit, installation, TAB, startup, commissioning, and certification support.
Problem solvingAn existing system that has never worked right, a room that will not hold tolerance, a plant that cannot meet a new production load. Diagnosis, engineering, and the crew to execute the fix come from the same place.

Our design philosophy is functional, economical, and sustainable systems evaluated over a 20-year life cycle — a chiller paired with a waterside economizer because Colorado's climate pays for it, equipment placed where a technician can actually service it, and sequences written to be understood by the people who will operate the building.

Why it is different here

Design that has to answer to the field.

A consulting engineer's drawing gets built by someone else and maintained by someone else again. Ours gets built by our own crews and, on most of these buildings, maintained by our own technicians for the next decade. That closes a loop most mechanical designs never close — and it is the reason ASE's designs account for how equipment fouls, ages, and gets serviced.
